privacy policy
what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. the short version: your canvases are yours, and nothing you make is used to train models.
who we are
this policy explains how rollo, Inc. ("rollo", "we", "us") handles personal information when you use the rollo mac app, the browser version and our website. we're the controller of the information described here.
what we collect
we collect only what we need to run rollo:
- account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in with another service, the basic profile it shares with us.
- billing details: your plan, invoices and billing address. card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
- your content: briefs, voice notes, reference images, brand kits and what rollo makes for you, when you store them in your account.
- usage information: which features you use, credit usage, app version, device type and error reports, so we can keep rollo working.
- messages: what you send us when you write to support or sales.
your canvases and content
canvases live on your computer when you use the mac app, and in your account so they sync with the browser version. when a step runs in the cloud, rollo sends only what that step needs.
we don't use your content to train models, and we don't let our providers do so either. we don't sell your content or your personal information.
voice notes are transcribed on your mac when you use the app. in the browser, audio is sent only for transcription and isn't kept afterwards.
how we use information
- to provide the service, including making, storing and syncing your work.
- to bill you and keep track of credits.
- to answer you when you get in touch.
- to keep rollo secure and stop abuse.
- to understand how rollo is used so we can improve it, using usage information rather than your content.
- to send product emails, like the newsletter, if you've asked for them. you can unsubscribe from any of them with one click.
where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and improving rollo, your consent (for example, for the newsletter), and our legal obligations.
how long we keep it
we keep your account information and content for as long as your account is open. when you delete something, it's removed from our systems within 30 days. billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
your choices and rights
depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or limit how we use it.
- export or delete your canvases from settings at any time.
- close your account from settings, which deletes your content within 30 days.
- for anything else, write to hello@rollo.studio. we'll reply within 30 days.
if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
security
we encrypt data in transit and at rest, limit who on our team can access it, and review access regularly. no system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you without undue delay.
international transfers
rollo is based in the united states, and our providers may process information in other countries. where we transfer personal information out of the uk or european economic area, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
children
rollo isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. if you think a child has given us information, write to us and we'll delete it.
changes to this policy
if we make a significant change to this policy, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
